Controlled desert mass landing

Long Description

A picture of a mass landing is generated using math constructed items only. Each craft is based on a three frequency icosahedron facet expansion from the original equalaterial triangle. The mountains are gaussian distribution functions and the head and helmet are CSG objects. All was done in POV except for reformatting to jpeg done in "Windows Paint".

Making Of

The purpose of this excercise was to generate "Math-only" art. As such, each item in the craft is based on scaled vector math. Each node point is derived and calculated except for the CSG helmet on the pilot. This gives control over individual facets and connection points. Some POV operations use internal data that the modeller may need downstream but is not available due to being in an internal calculation. This method of " generate the vectors first and then draw" preserves the highest control to the user.
