POVCOMP 2004 Terms and Conditions of Registration  

POVCOMP 2004 (the "competition") is operated and hosted by Planet Mirror Pty Ltd (ACN 093 906 168), an Australian registered company, with the assistance of volunteers associated with Persistence of Vision Raytracer Pty. Ltd. (ACN 105 891 870) (the "competition organisers").

  1. Entry to the competition is free of charge and winning entries are chosen on merit.

  2. The competition organisers themselves are not awarding any prizes mentioned in this document or on the competition website (www.povcomp.com). The prizes are being provided independently by Appro International of 446 South Abbott Avenue Milpitas, CA 95035, USA, and Zazzle.com, Inc. of 965 High Street Palo Alto, CA 94301 ("the sponsors").

  3. Principals and employees of the competition organisers, sponsors, the panel of judges, their affiliates and subsidiaries, and immediate families are not eligible to enter.

  4. Entries in the competition will be accepted beginning 15 September 2004 and will cease at midnight on 31 January 2005, US Pacific Time. Results will be announced between February 14-17 2005.

  5. By registering or entering the competition you accept and agree that:

    1. By your action of registering or entering you are indicating to the competition organisers and sponsors that you accept, agree, and will comply in full with the entire content of this document, and that you understand and accept that the competition organisers place reliance on this and would not permit you to register or otherwise enter the competition if you did not do so.

    2. Neither the competition organisers nor anyone associated with the competition may be held responsible for any loss or damage of any sort whatsoever, howsoever caused, that you may suffer as a result of entering.

    3. You will abide by the competition rules as stated on the competition website and as amended from time to time, and that failure to do so will render your entry or entries void.

    4. That application and interpretation of the competition rules shall be at the sole discretion of the organisers.

    5. To be eligible to compete you must have correctly registered using your real name and correctly supplied other required details and correctly and fully submitted your entry or entries before the closing date in accordance with the submission requirements current at that time.

    6. You are granting the competition organisers permission to send you email directly related to the competition.

    7. The organisers have the right to remove or disqualify any entry you submit for any reason without any recourse on the part of you or any other person.

    8. You are permitted to make at most three (3) entries in the competition, and that while you may remove an entry prior to the close of the competition submission period, doing so will not enable you to enter another one in its place.

    9. The decision of the judging panel is final and not subject to appeal.

    10. That prizes may not be redeemed for cash and that the sponsors are not responsible for inability to deliver any awarded prize to you where such inability is caused by a factor out of their control. In particular (and without limitation) you accept that you are solely responsible for any duties or taxes levied on any prize and for ensuring your acceptance of any prize complies with all laws applying in your jurisdiction.
